Our Reactions to the Colorado Shootings
I’m shocked and appalled. It’s senseless and my heart goes out to the victims. I pray that no one blames Dark Knight the way The Matrix was blamed for the columbine shootings. Films are an escape from reality, not a … Continue reading
Why I Can’t Talk to My Girlfriend About Comics, Part Seven
For some reason (related to overwhelming work and after-work schedules) this column was reduced to a partial-hype column last week. I’m going to do that one more time, as I think this week’s subject is as perfect as Orc Stain … Continue reading

Why I Can’t Talk to My Girlfriend About Comics, Part Four
There are many conversations I can have in the course of a day regarding my two main interests, writing and comics. I call it defending my life. By now, I’m used to having to defend my writing when people bring … Continue reading

Oh God. Oh my God. What is this???? You know I was willing to give Moonstone Comics a fair read when I saw they were creating a Kolchak the Night Stalker series. But now? Now, well I wanna put this … Continue reading
The New Awful Halloween Costumes From Marvel
Every once in a great while, someone will do something in the name of comics that will piss me off to no end – whether it’s a comic writer killing off a major character just to bring him/her back to … Continue reading

New Spider-Man Trailer featuring the Lizard
Sony/Paramount/Marvel released a new trailer for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ set to hit theaters July 3.
In the latest add we finally get a few glimpses of the Spider-Man’s antagonist ‘The Lizard’. There’s a even a few shots of them duking it out. Looks pretty sweet, definitely getting more exited about this release with each new trailer.
There’s no doubt that this will be a darker retelling of Peter Parker’s origin; the film finally explains the death/disappearance of Parker’s parents. The film makers even seem to make a nod to ‘The Dark Knight’. In one scene Dennis Leary who plays Captain George Stacy announces in a press release that he will arrest the vigilante known as Spider-Man.

A while back, I wrote about the unlikely prospect of a serious Marvel boycott in support of the late Jack Kirby and his heirs. I then received the following comment yesterday from Brian Munn, Director of The Canadian Comic Art … Continue reading
